Day 40 of 365 days of getting it done – work/life

Day 40 of 365 days of getting it done

Wassup! Day 40 of 365 days of getting it done  and life is freaking awesome!

For those people not in Melbourne, don’t know of Melbourne or don’t know Brighton in Melbourne (that’s a lot of Melbourne right there), then this is the jetty leading out to the Brighton marina. I just had lunch there with a good mate. First time I’d been there too. There’s something calm about being near/on the water and there are times when I miss living near the water – says he that has an awesome view of Port Phillip Bay.

Which leads me to the point of this post. As the years trickle on and life becomes easier to deal with, a work/life balance definitely comes more and more into play. Why should we, as happy humans, suffer the old world ways of industrialism and have to slave away for “the man”. True though, that it is, I do at present work for another man, I’m at least able to exercise influence over my work life.

Too many years were spent in roles that I suffered in due to the company I worked for and my own personal performance. It’s not until I regained composure of who I was that life started to transform.

Melbourne is awesome

Now I have the attitude that if I’m doing the best I can for the company I work for, then said company will allow me to operate in the manner which I work best to. IT’S THE F**KING BOMB! And now that I’m passionate about what I do, it’s no longer really ‘work’ – it’s more that I get paid to play.

If you’re stuck in role that doesn’t provide satisfaction and it continually drains you of energy – switch it up! Don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith in yourself. I did and it’s one of the best things I have done for myself.

GAME ON!
