It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock’n’roll

Maybe today’s blog should have been called “Told You I Liked Metallica”. That’s them doing their thing back in 2011. If you were ever looking for music that is timeless then Metallica are one of those bands, that no matter where in their career, have produced music that just rocks!

Their first album “Kill ‘Em All” is still a bench mark for thrash. Anyway… we all know how much I love metal.

This is thing about heavy metal. Bands like Metallica, Anthrax, Slayer, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, AC/DC (albeit a number of band member changes over the years to all aforementioned bands – especially in the last year for Bon Jovi and Slayer)… I could go on but you can see clearly I grew up in the 80s so we’ll stick to those particular bands for the moment. Wait. Whatever happened to U2? Just realised haven’t heard from them for a few years.

This is the thing about bands like those from the above – they have continued to follow their dreams and passions. The music these guys have put out and continue to pump out comes from the heart and that’s why it resonates with us such much. Well, it does with me.

Imagine a crowd of 120,000, that 25 years after you’d written a song, still chant to the chorus and guitar lines.

That kinda stuff only happens when it comes from the heart and soul. It’s not something that happens over night though. Like the heading – it’s a long way to the top if you want to rock’n’roll.

This blog is only 2/3 of year old and has achieved so much already. The top to the rock’n’roll pile takes a little more than that.

I live. I learn. I continue to live a little better than I did yesterday. That’s all that matters.

*** NOTE – my girl is away for the weekend. I miss her… she’s my rock that keeps the ship on course. Thankfully I have my two furry kids with me. I love you angel. ***

And seriously watch the Youtube video. Metallica are the tightest, heaviest and most inspirational band around bra. Totally dude. Nuttin’ but positive energy!
