Day 73 of 365 of days of getting it done – Metallica

Let’s be clear on day 73 of 365 days of getting it done. I love Metallica!

This is Metallica doing what they do best – playing their ultimate live song “Seek And Destroy”.

So I get it’s thrash metal and not to the liking of most people. But it’s a genre of music that strikes a chord with a lot of white anglo saxon males… including me! I rebel in the fact that I love Metallica. And it’s not just the music that inspires me. If you’ve ever read their history, you’ll know that they were always about 365 days of getting it done.

James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich have had a game plan from the very early 80s to make Metallica the name in metal that it is today. And if you look at the likes of Kiss, Poison, Motley Crue and any of the household names that live in the memory of rock’n’roll or metal, you’ll find at the heart of these bands were individuals who were determined to make it no matter what.

For all the shit that the guys from Poison would have copped for their image, they were still getting it done over 365 days! Their image was new to the scene and they weren’t received too well outside of Las Angeles. But they persevered for what they believed in and became a household name in the late 80s, early 90s.

365 days of getting it done is all about the same passion. Getting it done is about going after beliefs and you won’t let anything get in the way. So what if you’re not the popular kid in town? The fact that you believe in something that makes you stand alone (as long as it’s not about backing the devil and his ways) makes you stand out from the crowd.

Believe in yourself. Believe in where you’re headed. You may just be the next Metallica!
